(WDNews) — Authorities are investigating a Monday night shooting at a Phenix City apartment complex that left a Dothan man dead and a woman critically injured. Parkway on Thursday, June 24, Spivey was transported to Piedmont Columbus Regional Hospital by a private vehicle. Her condition has not yet been released. On Friday, July 25, investigators obtained arrest warrants for Regienol Ernest Poe in connection with the shooting. Poe faces two counts of attempted murder, one count of possession of a firearm by a person legally forbidden to possess one, and one count of shooting into an occupied vehicle. He was taken into custody without incident and is currently being held at the Harris County Jail, awaiting extradition back to Russell County, Alabama.

A double shooting in Phenix City has left one man dead and a woman in critical condition according to police. Two Phenix City women have been arrested after police say they carried out illegal ballot harvesting tied to suspicious absentee applications in the upcoming August 26 municipal elections. Detectives say the probe uncovered evidence of illegal ballot harvesting. According to police, both told investigators they were volunteering for District 3 City Council candidate Jamar Gayles surrounding the alleged offenses. While city council elections are non-partisan in Alabama, according to election data retrieved by Yellowhammer News , both offenders are Democrats. According to the Phenix City Police Department. Tiffany Petway was a passenger in a car that was involved in a fatal head-on crash.
